Kieron Pollard had two Pakistanis in his team, Shoaib Malik and Umer Akmal. Barbados lost earlier two wickets at the score of 30 when Dwayne Smith got out on zero and Jonathon Carter got out after scoring 11. At this time Malik started his innings. Though on the other end the team lost Shakib Al Hasan (5) and Umer Akmal (0) one after the other, Pollard and Malik managed to carve out a partnership of 88 runs. The welcome partnership came at a time when half of the batting line was out on just 48. Malik scored 78 off 51, including 3 sixes, and Pollard remained not out on 61 off 46 with 3 sixes and 4 fours. Barbados Tridents set the target of 170, the captain of St Lucia Zouks Darren Sammy took two wickets.

Tamim Iqbal of Bangladesh and Andre Fletcher gave a decent beginning to St Lucia Zouks’ innings with an opening stand of 57 runs. Iqbal was dismissed , scoring 22 off 14. His departure is followed by Herschelle Gibbs (7) and Devon Smith (9). Fletcher got out after scoring 57 runs, and the prolific bat of Pakistan's captain Misbah-ul-Haq could make only 12. Situation got worse when four batsmen Albie Morkel, Shane Shillingford, Garey Mathurin, and Tino Best were out for a duck.

Whole team got all out in the last over at 152 and the hard hitting 35 runs of Captain Sammy ended useless. He scored these runs with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes.  Pollard took 3 wickets for his team.

For his all round performance of 78 runs and one wicket Shoaib Malik was declared player of the match.

The next match of CPL will be played today between Muhammad Hafeez’s Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel under the leadership of Darren Bravo.
