For many coming months none of the tour of Pakistan is confirmed and all the arrangements will be finalised at the eleventh hour. As happened in the case of  tour to West Indies when the schedule has been announced two weeks before the series begin. The West Indies Cricket Board has announced the schedule for the short tour, according to which Pakistan will play five ODIs and two T20s in the Caribbean.

Originally, Pakistan were to play two Tests, five one-dayers and two T20s during the tour, but West Indies planned a tri-nation series, involving India and Sri Lanka in the same days and is going to begin from June 28. The move deprived Pakistan of a possible chance to beat West Indies in Test series for the first time in Caribbean. Though West Indies demanded Pakistan to postpone the tour until August so that both teams could also play Test series, Pakistan refused as there is a chance for them hosting India in a series to be played in the UAE or some other venue. Moreover, Pakistan also owe Zimbabwe a tour which they putt off last year. Against this backdrop, it was not possible for Pakistan to play West Indies in August, which is why two Tests have been excluded from the tour.

The series will start with an ODI on July 14 in Guyana followed by the second ODI at the same venue. The remaining three one-dayers will be played on July 19, 21 and 24 in Saint Lucia. The only two Twenty20s will be held at Arnos Vale Ground, Saint Vincent on July 27 and 28.

The tour is going to be quite a challenge for the new management of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after the team’s implosion in the recently concluded Champions Trophy. Let’s see which players will be selected for the crucial tour.

Following is the complete schedule of the tour.
