Hafeez’s inclusion or exclusion from the team has been the bone of contention which resulted in the delayed announcement of the squad. Now when the team is due to depart for the series in just two days, the PCB has finally announced the squad. To complete the 15-member squad, the board will select three more players on the basis of players’ performance in the three-day practice match against the UAE.

Mishab-ul-Haq continues to be the Test captain. Now, he has to win this series to reciprocate the whitewash against South Africa earlier this year. Mohammad Irfan has been recalled to the team, while Asad Shafiq has been dropped because of his below-par performance.

The 12-man squad has:

Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Azhar Ali, Junaid Khan, Khurram Manzoor, Zulfiqar Babar, Rahat Ali, Saeed Ajmal, Abdur Rehman, Umar Amin, Mohammad Irfan and Yunus Khan.
