Pakistan former captain and bowling great Wasim Akram has reached Pakistan along with his fiancée, Shaniera Thompson. Her stay in Pakistan will be for one year during which their valima will be held.

Akram’s fans were delighted at the news of his engagement and they are now praying for the success of second innings of his personal life. Now the latest news for his admirers is that he has reached Karachi with his would-be wife and children. Thompson, an avid Twitter user, has already informed that she is going to stay in Pakistan for one year.
People close to the left-arm bowler said that Thompson is trying to understand Pakistani culture and Akram is helping her in this regard. Moreover, she has also started learning Urdu and thanking to her fans in ‘Roman Urdu’ on social media.
The valima ceremony of the couple is expected soon but a final is date could not be confirmed.
Akram first met Thompson in Melbourne in 2011, and he himself proposed her. The 47-year-old cricketer first married Huma Wasim and had two children – Taimoor and Akbar – with her. Huma died in a Chennai hospital in 2009.
