The 2013 Champions Trophy is just a week away, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and its global media rights partner STAR Sports are taking final steps to telecast the matches in 180 countries, which means the tournament will reach 1.5 billion viewers.

In Pakistan, the matches will be broadcasted on the state television ‘PTV’. STAR Sports, Fox Sports, Super Sports and ESPN will also telecast the matches live.
According to an ICC press release, STAR Sports is once again ready for high-definition (HD) broadcast for which 29 cameras will be used, including Spidercam, Hawk-Eye, Hot Spot and ultra-motion cameras.
Moreover, it will be the first ICC tournament to be broadcasted using Dolby 5.1 surround sound. The event will feature world’s best commentators, including Ramiz Raja and Wasim Akram from Pakistan, and Michael Atherton, Michael Holding, Nasser Hussain, Shane Warne, David Lloyd, Pommie Mbangwa, Russel Arnold, Sanjay Manjrekar, Simon Doull, Saurav Ganguly, Sunil Gavaskar, Tom Moody, Alan Wilkins and Harsha Bhogle. What else do you want?
The ICC has inaugurated its new website this time around. When you log on to www.icc-cricket.com, it will be redirected to Champions Trophy page for the time being. Twitter users can post their tweets using the hashtag of ‘#ct13’ for the tournament.
